Create Spotlight posts with video and custom ad copy that will distribute on the Yelp App homepage and business photo pages. A click on Spotlight ads takes Yelp’s high-intent users to a detail page with more information and a call-to-action that can drive to your website or business page.

How do you measure results from Spotlight campaigns?

In addition to standard reporting metrics like click-thru-rates (CTR) and video completion rates (VCR), you can also measure against business objectives like brand lift or store visits. Depending on the specific goal you’re setting your Spotlight campaign up to achieve, Yelp for Brands has multiple measurement options for you to choose from.

How many posts can we share on Spotlight?

We require 1 post for every 5 million impressions, and the minimum campaign is 10 million impressions (therefore requiring 2 posts).

How do we measure success on Spotlight?

We support both Store Visit and Brand Lift attribution with Spotlight. We can also report the granular campaign metrics like impressions, opens, CTA click through rates, and video completion rates.

Can I report on this separately from my other Yelp campaigns?

Yes, we recommend setting up reporting for all your campaigns combined, and then additional custom reports for each campaign. Granularity is dependent on attribution partner feasibility.

Can I link to my website?

Yes, we have a number of CTA destinations available including linking to a custom landing page on your website. We recommend aligning your CTA with your campaign goal.

How are users targeted with Spotlight?

We have 2 different targeting strategies based on how a campaign is set up.

For campaigns focused around physical business locations we’ll target all users on the Yelp App nearby.

For campaigns focused on high level national messaging we can target all users on the Yelp app throughout the United States.
