3 reasons why Yelp is a reliable, consistent solution for your business
Trust is hard to earn and easy to lose. Businesses of all sizes know how difficult it is to build a reputation that creates loyal customers. Customer service, products, and other offerings must be consistent, or the footing entrepreneurs have gained over years can vanish in an instant.
How you show up online is a crucial part of building trust—and Yelp helps businesses put their best foot forward. Facilitating a level playing field for businesses while also protecting consumers is, and has always been, core to Yelp’s mission and commitment to trust and safety.
Your customers should feel confident about engaging with your brand, whether they’re reading reviews, requesting a quote, or scheduling an appointment. Below, discover three reasons why businesses trust Yelp to help them extend their reach, grow their customer bases, and build reputations that last.
1. Yelp is a consistent source of high-intent leads
Customers come to Yelp to find businesses that meet their needs. Over 76 million people visit Yelp every month,1 and they’re doing more than just browsing: 82% of users hire or buy from a business they viewed on Yelp within a week.2
Plus, users are increasingly connecting with businesses on Yelp using features like Request a Quote. As of 2024, more than 85,000 new requests for projects and other messages are sent to businesses on Yelp every day—a 42% increase from the number of requests sent in 2022—making Yelp a consistent source of high-intent leads.3
“Most of our valuable customers come from Yelp because they are ready to hire a professional, whereas leads from other sources contact us to mostly ask questions,” said Adam Fuseman, founder of Fuse Service, a home service brand with franchises across California.

Adam says Yelp customers are ready to hire, making them a reliable lead source that delivers $20 million in annual revenue for the company. He added: “Yelp leads are not cold, and we know they’re almost 100% guaranteed to go with us when they reach out. This is why we take care of our reputation on Yelp, and we recommend all our franchisees to use Yelp as well.”
2. Two decades of expertise makes Yelp a stable solution for business growth
Yelp has been a stable foundation for both businesses and consumers for more than 20 years. Since the company’s founding in 2004, tens of million businesses have launched on the platform,4 and users have posted more than 308 million cumulative reviews.5
Last year, Yelp celebrated its 20th anniversary, with many of the original adopters still finding success on the platform two decades later. “For the last 10+ years, Yelp has brought me another level of my name being out there,” Steve Lite, owner of Steve’s Auto Care, said. “At this point, [my Yelp Page] has got a life of its own, and my business is to a point where I’m just choosing who I want to work with.”

“My number one source of new business is my Yelp Page,” said Michael Wombacher, owner of the dog training business Dog Gone Good, who joined the platform in 2005 at the urging of a client (Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman). “It’s also a lot more compelling than two or three references from people that I’ve obviously asked to give me reference—my Yelp Page is filled with reviews with people whom I didn’t have to solicit a reference from.”
No matter how long you’ve been active on Yelp, you can also benefit from the platform’s stability and longevity. Yelp’s Senior Vice President of Local Sales Paul Reich tells newcomers to the platform: “Businesses who earn over $1 million in sales a year from Yelp have typically been advertising with us for 3+ years. Claim your page, use your free tools, and consider this a multi-year exercise in building your brand. If you plan to be in business in three years—we’ll be here—this could be your primary source of customers by then.”
3. Yelp’s policies cultivate reliable content for both businesses and users
With so many companies vying for customers’ attention online, reliability is at a premium. That’s why it’s crucial consumers have access to a platform that safeguards reliable content and helps them discover great businesses, while actively combating misleading information.
Yelp’s trust and safety practices help showcase useful content for consumers and mitigate misinformation, which in turn, helps businesses build authentic reputations. Yelp’s automated recommendation software surfaces the most helpful reviews, while a team of moderators mitigate attempts to deceive or mislead users.
In a recent YouGov survey, 94% of review readers said reviews should reflect actual customer experiences, not what someone saw on the news or social media. In cases like these, Yelp may place a Media Attention Alert on a business’s page, temporarily disabling the ability to review. (In 2024, these alerts resulted in the removal of over 56,900 reviews, according to Yelp’s 2024 Trust and Safety Report.)
Yelp strictly prohibits compensated and incentivized reviews, which can mislead customers and hurt businesses. In 2024, Yelp placed 547 Compensated Activity Alerts and Suspicious Review Activity Alerts on business pages to inform users about potential review manipulation. The platform also closed more than 1,300 user accounts involved in review exchange rings or other suspicious review activity, marking a 42% increase from the previous year. In addition, Yelp actively enforces its policies against hate speech, harassment, and other content that violates Yelp’s content guidelines.
“We chose to partner with Yelp for advertising because of its reputation as a trusted platform for consumers looking for local services,” said Albert Musallam, owner of Rock N Block Turf N Hardscapes, which operates landscaping teams across four states. “The platform not only enhances our visibility but also allows us to connect with customers who are genuinely interested in quality artificial turf and landscape design services.”
