Black-owned attribute
Business owners can add the “Black-owned” attribute to display on their Yelp Page. This free, searchable attribute helps consumers find and support Black-owned businesses in their communities.
More than 93,000 businesses have self-identified as Black-owned on Yelp.*
If you are an Black-owned business and want to add the attribute to your Yelp Page and to appear in “Black-owned” search results, you can opt-in via your Yelp for Business account by following these simple steps:

- Log in to Yelp for Business (Business Information tab)
- In the Amenities section, click Add or Edit
- Select Yes next to “Black-owned”
- Click Save
This attribute is an opt-in only feature, as the decision to identify as Black-owned should rest solely with the business.

Did you know?
- You can get get a free Black-owned business sticker in the mail by filling out this request form (eligible for businesses with a physical location listed on Yelp). Stickers are sent out on a monthly basis.

- Since Yelp launched the Black-owned attribute in 2020, it has increased customer engagement and reviews for Black-owned businesses, leading to real economic gains. A Harvard Business School study found that Black-owned restaurants with the attribute saw a boost in total orders and revenue, while Black-owned shops received 10% more in-person visits.
- You can add unlimited attributes to your page to help you identify your business, including Open to All, Asian-owned, Latinx-owned, LGBTQ-owned, Women-owned, veteran-owned, and more. Add your choice of attributes by following the same instructions as above.
- Yelp continues to support Black-owned businesses by renewing deposits to Black-owned banks in traditionally underbanked areas, helping create more access to capital for small, minority-owned businesses.
- Yelp compiled a list of the top 25 Black-owned bakeries and cafes according to Yelp Elites, featuring businesses across the country.
