Veteran-owned attribute

Business owners can add the “veteran-owned” attribute to display on their Yelp Page. This free, searchable attribute helps consumers find and support veteran-owned businesses in their communities. All businesses that select the veteran-owned attribute will be sent a free window decal in the mail (eligible for businesses with a physical location listed on Yelp) starting in 2023.

If you are a veteran-owned business and want to add the attribute to your Yelp Page and appear in “veteran-owned” search results, you can opt-in via your Yelp for Business account by following these simple steps:

  1. Log in to Yelp for Business (Business Information tab)
  2. In the Amenities section, click Add or Edit
  3. Select Yes next to “veteran-owned”
  4. Click Save Changes

In addition to the new attribute, check out our resource hub for veteran-owned businesses, including helpful business info, inspirational stories, and more.

Tip: You can add unlimited attributes to your page to help you identify your business, including Asian-owned, Latinx-owned, Black-owned, women-owned, LGBTQ-owned, and more. Add your choice of attributes by following the same instructions as above.

Yelp integration on Mailchimp

Mailchimp customers with claimed Yelp Business Pages can now seamlessly populate their marketing emails with trusted content from Yelp, including reviews, photos, and business details.

With the newly added Yelp for Business extension in Mailchimp, you can easily add your existing business content from Yelp into marketing emails—eliminating the hassle of copying and pasting reviews or photos and making it a seamless process to highlight what makes your business unique. The Yelp content blocks link directly back to your Yelp Business Page so your customers can click through to read more reviews, view more photos, and learn more about your business.

The Yelp integration is included in all Mailchimp Marketing Platform plans, including the free version. Read more about the integration. If you don’t have a claimed Yelp Page yet, you can add or claim your page for free in just a few quick steps.

Top 100 Places to Eat nominations

Update (Nov. 7, 2022): Nominations are now closed.

Next year marks the 10th anniversary of Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat, and any dining establishment with a Yelp Business Page is eligible for a nomination. Get your restaurant ready with this tool kit, which covers how the nomination process works, stories from past winners, and more.

Spread the word to gather votes from your loyal customers and get a chance at making the list. In the tool kit, you’ll also find customizable social media assets that can be easily downloaded and used across your social media platforms to help you gather nominations from your community.

Nominations are open Nov. 1-7 and winners will be announced early next year.

Yelp for Restaurants credit card hold

This new credit card hold feature lets you hold and charge diner credit cards for late cancellations and no-shows, preventing a loss of revenue due to empty tables while also setting customer expectations. The system gives users the option to charge a customized amount for any violations, and cancellation policy details can be updated at any time.
