Recent Yelp data shows support is rising for businesses that align with consumers’ values. Whether looking for a female-led business, a business that promotes inclusivity, or one that supports sustainability, consumers care about the values of the businesses they spend their money with. This panel discussion, recorded during Yelp’s Women in Business Summit, explores how business owners can find meaningful ways to interact and engage with values-driven consumers.

Cate Luzio CEO and Founder of Luminary

Founder and CEO of Luminary, Cate Luzio’s passion for empowering women has led her to develop a premier collaboration hub dedicated to women’s professional development and network expansion in New York City. Cate currently serves on the National Board for Girls Inc. and has over 20 years of leadership experience in financial services with prestigious companies, such as HSBC and J.P. Morgan. She has been recognized on the Most Powerful Women in Banking List by American Banker and Female Founders 100 by Inc. in 2019. She has also been featured in Financial Times, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Fast Company, Bloomberg, WWD, Robb Report, Women’s Health, and more.

Alexis Schulze Co-Founder of Nekter Juice Bar

Alexis co-founded Nekter in 2010 with the goal to make healthy food and drink more accessible (and more delicious). She is the author of “Sneaky Spinach,” a children’s book for encouraging healthy eating habits in children, and founder of the Sojourn Foundation, an organization with the mission of having a positive impact on children in developing countries and establishing meaningful global connections.

Calla Rongerude Director at Open to All

Calla has more than 15 years of nonprofit experience, creating and implementing national and state-level communications and public education campaigns on issues ranging from arts to higher education to equality and civil rights. At Movement Advancement Project, she leads Open to All, a national nondiscrimination campaign whose message is that everyone is welcome, valued, and respected. Calla uses her talent for storytelling and passion for social justice to build empathy, uplift communities, and shed light on issues of equality.

Erica Maurer Partner at EMRG Media (moderator)

Erica has spent 15 years in event planning and marketing. At EMRG, a leading events, marketing, production, and creative agency, she develops in-person and virtual events customized to each client.
